On Monday, February 8, students at Flomaton High School received a special lesson in government from U.S. Represemtative Bradley Byrne (R-District 1, AL).  After being welcomed and introduced by Escambia County Board of Education Superintendent John Knott, Rep. Byrne presented a flag that had flown over the U.S. Capitol to Principal Scott Hammond. Byrne spent time explaining the daily functions of his job as a U.S. Representative.   He spent the majority of his time, however, fielding questions from the students.  The students asked several questions ranging in topics from abortion to his one choice of college.  Congressman Byrne also challenged students to register to vote.  He emphasized the importance of voting, regardless of political pary affiliation.
