The senior and junior Student Council Associations recently visited Flomaton Elementary School to celebrate birthday of the legendary Dr. Seuss. On Friday, February 28, 2014, students from grades seven through twelve volunteered to serve as community readers as part of a nationwide event: Read Across America Day. The elementary students were definitely excited to see the high school leaders and enjoyed the stories. SCA students read many of the Dr. Seuss classics like The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and The Lorax.
Joining the SCA students at Flomaton Elementary was another special visitor, the Cat in the Hat. Before the high school students left, they took a moment to have a picture taken with the Cat.

Above is a brief video clip of SCA secretary Paige Steadham reading to elementary students. (It may take a few moments to load.)
