Green Named as New Assistant Principal

Assistant Principal Jarrod Green

The Escambia County Board of Education recently named Mr. Jarrod Green as Flomaton High School's new assistant principal during meeting on June 20, 2013.  Mr. Green now fills the vacancy created when former assistant principal Dennis Fuqua transferred to become the principal of Escambia County High School in Atmore.  As an alumnus of Flomaton High School, Green is certainly familiar with the community.  After graduating from Troy University in 1999, he began his career in education at Escambia County Middle School as a teacher and a coach.  In 2003, he transferred to Flomaton High School where he has taught biology, earth science, physical education, physical science, and many other courses. Mr.  Green also undertook various coaching responsibilities.  He has seen success in both the classroom and on the basketball court.  In 2008, he completed his master's degree at Alabama State University.  As a teacher and a coach at Flomaton High School, Coach Green has earned the respect of his colleagues and students.  He brings to the position a strong work ethic, competency, and practical discernment.  His effectiveness as a teacher and a coach will undoubtedly characterize his work in this new role.  When asked about his new role and expectations, Mr. Green responded, "I'm excited and looking forward to working with the teachers, staff, and students in a different capacity this upcoming year.  We have excellent teachers, support staff, and students.  I anticipate learning new things to share as well as disseminating ideas and strategies from my 13 years of teaching and coaching."  Assistant Principal Green officially begins his new job on August 5, 2013.
